Becoming Glen
Summary:
Network: FOX
Release: Fall 2006
This multi-camera comedy is from the genius behind "Family Guy" and is about a 40-something year old man looking back on his life just a decade ago when he was a slacker living with his parents and watching tv all day.
Cast and Crew:
This tv show is perhaps the most talked about comedy for 2006-2007. Much of this stems from Rob Corddry. He is a VERY funny man, and is best known for his role on "The Daily Show" with John Stewart on Comedy Central. He also had a few cameos on "Arrested Development" in 2005.
Julie Hagerty is also pretty well known. She has been in the business for awhile and was most recently the "mom" in "Just Friends" with Ryan Reynolds.
Lenny Clarke has been cast as a main character. He spent a season on FX's hit "Rescue Me" as "Uncle Teddy". He too is a very funny man.
To round out the cast we have the beautiful Errin Hayes who has bounced around from sitcom to sitcom for the past few years doing at most 3 episode long arcs. She was most recently "Becky Sharp" in Fox's "Kitchen Confidential" which was cancelled in 2005.
Besides Corddry, the buzz surrounding the project mostly comes from the writers. Ricky Blitt and Seth MacFarlane are very well known for their work creating "Family Guy" on FOX.
Our Take:
WE LOVE IT. This show will be debuting on FOX in the Fall. Seth MacFarlane is a genius. We are very excited to see what type of show he can put together with non-animated characters. We expect the writing to be top-drawer. Then we have an amazing ensemble cast which seems to complement each other nicely. It will also be interesting to see how Corddry handles the spotlight.
Industry insiders are saying barring an atrocious pilot, Becoming Glen is certain to be slated for FOX's Fall lineup.
