October Road

Summary:
Network: ABC
Release: Fall 2006
This hour-long drama is about a young man named Nick Garrett who at 18 leaves his home town for a summer road trip and never returns. He winds up becoming a huge writer in Manhattan. His best selling book was based on his life growing up in October Road and all his friends. However, once Nick realizes that he doesn't have any material for his second book he decides to head back home. Once he arrives he learns that he burned all his bridges with his friends, who he wrote about (or didn't) in his novel. The show follows Nick as he searches for new inspiration and tries to mend his old relationships.

Cast and Crew:
Bryan Greenberg, Laura Prepon, Jay Paulson, Tom Berenger, and Geoff Stults star. Greenberg started out on "One Tree Hill" and later got the lead in "Prime" opposite Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep.

André Nemec, Gary Fleder, and Josh Appelbaum are behind this pilot. Nemec worked on "Alias" as did Appelbaum. Fleder directed the new drama show "The Evidence".

Our Take:
This actually looks pretty decent. Greenberg as the main character is out of nowhere, but hey he is a pretty decent actor. Prepon is 'ok' and Tom Berenger? Seriously? The guy from "Sniper"? Hmmm...Ok. Besides the cast, the production team is good and the plot seems to be one of the best for any new drama for 2007. We look forward to seeing the pilot episode.
