Pink Collar

Summary:
Network: ABC
Release: Fall 2006
Set in an accident insurance agency, this ABC comedy follows the lives of four woman as they juggle their ambitions, friendships, and relationships. Hayden (Alicia Silverstone) is the show's main character who is struggling to get back into the company's good graces after an unmentioned incident that took place years ago.

Cast and Crew:
Alicia Silverstone, Charlotte Ross, Matt Malloy, and Ryan Michlle Bathe have all been cast in this sitcom. Silverstone last starred in "Miss Match" that was cancelled in its first season run. Ryan Michelle Bathe is about the only other known actress on the show. She was Sara Holt on ABC's "Boston Legal". She will play Hayden's successful and ambitious co-worker.

Alan Poul, David Knoller and Patricia Breen are behind this project.

Our Take:
There are certainly some things to like with Pink Collar. Alicia Silverstone is actually a pretty decent actress (at least more so than she is given credit for...we will leave it at that). We are going to go out on a limb (we do that a lot here) and say she has what it takes to headline her own show. There is certainly a female viewer vacuum left behind by Sex and the City that is begging to be filled.

More promising than the cast is the production team. We have Poul from HBO's acclaimed "Six Feet Under". Knoller for HBO's acclaimed new series "Big Love", and Breen who was a head writer for Fraiser on NBC. This is a pretty darned good group of people working on one project. So despite the fact we don't know much about this project yet (we havn't even seen a script) we are going to guess that it is pretty decent. This production team wouldn't put together "just another junk sitcom". So watch for Pink Collar this fall.
