TV FROG > Women of a Certain AgeSummary: Network: ABC Release: Fall 2006 A comedy about a recently widowed woman who starts a new life with her two best friends at her side. Cast and Crew: Heather Locklear has signed on to lead this show as the widow. Locklear has had decent arcs on a number of shows like the hilarious "Scrubs" on NBC as well as "Boston Legal" on ABC, but this will be her first leading role in tv since the dreadfully bad "LAX" in 2004. Allison Adler is the writer & executive producer along with Gabe Sachs, Jeff Judah, and Stu Bloomberg all from the cancelled ABC teen drama "Life as we Know It". Adler most recently put together the failed comedy "Emily's Reasons Why Not" starring Heather Graham. No actors have been cast for the 2 friends yet. Our Take: Although Locklear was pretty good in "Scrubs" in 2005 and is a big name, we just don't buy the fact she can be funny all by herself. We don't see this happening. The casting of the two friends could be crucial. If ABC does this right, it could salvage the pilot. However, we have to say that this show wont see a network debut due to poor writing. |
